Bamboo is a sustainable resource. Rayon from bamboo is highly water absorbent and soft to the touch. This creates the ability for easy wicking and is comfortable against the skin, leaving you cooler and drier than synthetics or cotton. The smooth texture and natural luster leads to an excellent draping ability similar to silk but more practical since it is machine washable.

The bamboo plant grows quickly and does not require the use of pesticides and herbicides to thrive. As a result, little irrigation is required and the quality of soil is improved. There is little ground water pollution associated with its growth.

5 Reasons to love & live in bamboo

1 Fully sustainable

2 Regenerates in 55 days

3 Requires no pesticides

4 Requires little irrigation

5 Is biodegradable

For years, like many recreational & competitive athletes I was looking for comfortable yet attractive clothing to wear during training sessions and races. Function, ability and fit were key factors when choosing athletic clothing but over the years I found my closets and drawers accumulating running & biking jerseys; hoodies and sad sack running shorts that barely saw the light of day.

The race jerseys I acquired from participating in events were generally made of polyester or some technical fabric that was covered in advertising from sponsors. They fit like a paper bag and the colour combinations were seldom something I would choose for myself. The most disturbing thing was how my body odor was permanently trapped in the garments no matter how many times I washed them. Although I am proud of how much I perspire when I’ve got the pedal to the medal, I don’t think the world needs to smell me coming!

Most athletes work tirelessly to trim the fat off their bodies and maintain a slender, lean and athletic build. When you work that hard, come race day every athlete wants to look and perform their best.

When you feel good on the inside and look good on the outside, your confidence soars.

The idea of designing and developing a sleek, comfortable and functional line of athletic wear came to me over the past ten years. Finding a way to stay cool in summer; warm in winter, without too many layers brought me to trying alternative materials. Merino wool worked extremely well for several years and I still use it. The products that I found on the market were expensive and the colour palettes very limited. There wasn’t much innovative design either. So I decided to start my own collection.

It is on the complete opposite spectrum of design & tailoring that I have been accustomed to doing for the past 30 years but working with colour and stretchy natural material has not only been challenging but extremely rewarding!

I take tremendous pride that my team of seamstresses has been working with me for over 22 years and that every garment is cut & sewn locally.

I hope that you will enjoy wearing my designs and that you thrive in health and life.
