Beverli Barnes

Beverli graduated from the prestigious Parsons School of Design in 1982 with a degree in Fashion Design.  In 1996 Barnes was nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year, for innovation & design with her former company Is It Legal? Now operating under Beverli Barnes Custom Design, she supplies BC & Alberta court lawyers and judges with custom court attire.

Beverli currently volunteers as a run group leader at Forerunners in Vancouver and has completed numerous races from 5K – marathon and triathlon. In November 2013 she ran the Athens Classic Marathon in Greece placing in the top ten in her age group.

Her passion for design, athletics and adventure is shared by her life & business partner Deborah Nielsen. The two met in 1992 and became fast friends while running at the track discussing business and life adventures.

Deborah Nielsen graduated from Mount Royal University in 1986 with a degree in Interior Design. She is a two time recipient of the IDI Award of Excellence.

Specializing in Corporate Design, Deborah Nielsen Interior Design based in Vancouver continues to dazzle clients with innovative, green, clean, and timeless design. Her attention to detail is supreme and her work ethic impeccable. She appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show in 2002 when she completely transformed a small space residence in less than 72 hours. And this just a few days after completing the gruelling Sea2Summit 100K adventure race!

While maintaining her very successful design business, Nielsen continuously challenges herself by taking on life and adventure with a vengeance.  In 2007 she completed her first triathlon Sprint Distance and had so much fun, she signed up for Ironman 2008. Since then she has completed two more Ironman’s and her first 50K ultra run at Elk Lake in the spring of 2014.
